about me

Lou Baudelaire was born in Byron Bay, Australia, and took what can be described as the scenic route to becoming an author through a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, then a stint in STEM pursuing cardiology. She began writing stories between lectures and, admittedly, sometimes during them and, quite ironically, she found her love of writing about the heart while studying it.

Her work is shaped by a deep fascination with women's issues, history, and mythology. She is drawn to stories that meld the magical with the exploration of womanhood and particularly gothic romance that dares to challenge patriarchal norms.

When not writing, Lou can be found in the Queensland countryside with her chickens, ducks, and her faithful but cantankerous horse, Sergeant Pepper. She'll likely be reading about gorgeous villains, rummaging through antique stores, or attempting to keep her garden alive to varying degrees of success.
